When viewers watch Gold Rush there are a lot of numbers that get thrown around. However, it isn’t ever revealed how much these miners make. We know that a few thousand ounces of gold could mean millions for the operation, but that gets broken down.
So, when a guy like Tony Beets and his family crew start digging, there are a lot of variables at play. Those machines don’t run 24/7 by themselves and they sure don’t do it for free. Then there are the general labor costs, the amount of money invested into the actual claim of land. Beets is one of those success stories everyone dreams of living. He was born in the Netherlands in 1959 and after moving to Canada, he started to make his way into the gold mining business.
How much does Tony Beets make from mining on Gold Rush? Well, it’s not actually clear how much he personally takes home at the end of a season. However, we do know his net worth. After many years of mining and now 10+ years on television, Beets has amassed a worth of $15 million. That’s a pretty penny. While it isn’t clear how much he makes a season, it is clear that he ain’t hurting for cash.
This is a big season for all of the mining operations on the show. Parker Schnabel is having to make decisions on which sites to move to and which to give up on. At least for a bit. Those are big moves and they could either pay off or end up being a bust. There is a lot of gold still left in the Klondike and we are sure to see some big paydays.
Tony Beets has an eye on a Gold Rush record.
‘Gold Rush’ Star Tony Beets Wants to Dig 9,000 Ounces
When he came into the season, Beets had his eyes on a big prize. He has formulated all the costs and other things and now has his focus on producing a profitable amount of gold. The Gold Rush star gave a rough outline ahead of the season.
“So, let’s just say we spent $5 million worth on equipment,” he said. “But we are going to come back with three times more iron than we left with. So, I wouldn’t see a big problem running 9,000 ounces. I think it is well within our reach. We are going to have to hit the ground running. We are definitely going o go flat out for a while. So let’s just go out and go do it.”
If his crew is able to dig up that much gold, they will bring in roughly $16 million. For this Gold Rush family, that is a big deal. Tony Beets is going all or nothing this season.
