Days after announcing the birth of her and Granger Smith’s son Maverick, Amber Smith is taking to Instagram to address the negative comments she has received about the couple’s late son, River.

As previously reported, River passed away in 2019 at the age of 3 after drowning at Granger Smith’s home in Texas. Amber took to her Instagram Stories to address the comments by writing, “I never like to give these people more attention than they deserve. But it’s a reminder that we live in a dark world where people judge one another. And say the most hurtful, cruel things.”

Smith’s wife also encouraged the critics to think before typing or speaking their opinions. “The Bible tells us that the tongue is a fire – James 3:6. The tongue is also a fire. A world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body. [It] sets the whole course of one’s life on fire. And itself set on fire by hell.”

Amber Smith finishes her post by asking her followers to be the light and know who they are in Jesus Christ. “So when flaming darts come [our] way, you are wearing the armor of God. Not today Satan.”

Granger Smith & Family Welcome Maverick

Just after coming home from the hospital, Granger Smith’s wife posted a sweet post on Instagram about the birth of their son, Maverick. “I truly didn’t know how my emotions would be welcoming Maverick into the world.”

Granger Smith’s wife also writes the journey that the family has been on included anticipation, grief, guilt, and joy. “I was honestly scared of how I would feel. But the main emotion and feeling I have is peace. Full peace.”

Smith goes on to share she is full of gratitude for Maverick’s like and the blessing he is to her family. She also explained that at the start of this latest journey, Isaiah 43:19 kept filing her heart. “Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it?”

Granger Smith’s wife goes on to add that the family is so full of joy to welcome Maverick and share their joy with followers. “Say hello to Maverick Beckham Smith. 7lbs 20 inches and so full of sweetness! Thank you, Lord, for your goodness. And thank YOU all for your prayers and well wishes. We felt them all.”

Amber then posted some snaps of Granger and the kids hanging out with Maverick. “Welcome home buddy,” she wrote in the caption. Granger Smith also shared a sweet pic of him kissing Maverick at the hospital. “‘I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.’ 1 Samuel 1:27.”
