Over the last two years, it has been difficult to play or attend a live show. Guitarist Slash and band Guns N’ Roses know that all too well. The band has played a number of shows this year. Wolf Van Halen joined them for a lot of those shows.
During the U.S. tour, things were strict. The band wanted to get the shows done without having to cancel dates. Slash talked about the tour and the restrictions that the band faced along the way with Radio Bob recently.
“Guns just did a U.S. tour, which was a lot of fun. It was great because you had all these crowds that were super hungry for live gigs. And so it was a very energetic tour. At the same time, we also had a lot of intense restrictions. We didn’t have any kind of aftershow guests – no guests whatsoever – and we never left the hotel pretty much the entire time. And everybody just had to really keep it together so that we didn’t have somebody get sick and have to postpone the tour and all that kind of stuff. But we made it through unscathed. So it was good.”
The tour took Guns N’ Roses all over the country. It seemed like a successful tour. When it all came to an end, Wolf Van Halen even came on stage to play Paradise City with the band. Those shows made up the last two dates of the tour. It looked like a crazy goo time from the pictures shared on social media.
Guns N’ Roses Slash Releases New Single
Since the touring has calmed down with Guns N’ Roses, Slash is working on his other projects. Namely, his solo work. The iconic guitarist put out a new single recently. The River is Rising is the latest from the rock legend. The new song is pretty damn heavy.
It is great to see Slash playing some heavier metal. He can play anything, but this new song is modern and worthy of a workout playlist or two. Slash is a legend and teaming up with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators is the perfect pairing. The two sound so good together.
Slash teased the new song leading up to the release. On Monday he shared a trailer for the song. The music video is pure metal. Empty warehouse setting, dark and dreary looking, a bunch of kinda scary looking guys playing metal, it has everything.
Even when Guns N’ Roses isn’t touring, Slash has other projects going on. Over the years he has established himself as one of the greatest to ever shred six strings. His look, style, and attitude are known all over the world. Yet, he remains a mysterious figure many times. Perhaps it’s the top hat, long hair, and sunglasses, but there is a mysteriousness to the rocker.
