Pop singer Gwen Stefani posted a sweet tribute to her older brother, Eric Stefani, through her Instagram account on Thursday. The Hollaback Girl” songstress’ post featured adorable throwback pics of her and Eric as young kids then teenagers.

“Happy birthday to my big brother [Eric Stefani],” Gwen gushes in the post. “We love you. Wouldn’t be me [without] you.”

Eric and Gwen were bandmates for the band, No Doubt. Originally not the frontwoman for the group, Eric reportedly persuaded her to join as backup vocals in the late 80s. Gwen previously shares, “I wasn’t doing anything, he would say, ‘Come in here and sing with me!’” After a few years, Eric decided to leave the band and became an animator for the hit Fox series, The Simpsons and Nickelodeon’s The Ren & Stimpy Show.

Gwen is still listed as a member of No Doubt, but is notably uncertain about the group’s future. “I don’t know what’s going to happen with No Doubt,” Stefani shares with Rolling Stone. “When Tony [Kanal] and I are connected creatively, it’s magic. But I think we’ve grown apart as far as what kind of music we want to make.” She also says she was really drained and burnt out when No Doubt recorded Push and Shove in 2012.
