Gwen Stefani is loving life with her fiancé Blake Shelton, but at one point, she was’t sure if the two were going to get engaged.
In an interview on the TODAY show, the “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” singer admits that it’s weird how life plays out.
“You don’t see things that are right around the corner after such devastation,” Stefani says. “There’s a lot of healing to do.” Both Stefani and Shelton were each separately going through a divorce when they met on “The Voice.” The two had a lot to consider before getting married. They considered their families and Stefani’s children.
“It was just natural and it’s funny because he basically had the ring and it was right around my birthday. I was kind of getting a little bit anxious, like ‘wait a minute, what are we doing? I don’t need to ever get married again, and what is happening?’,” Stefani says as she began questioning her relationship. “I started having a little insecurity and so it was right on time.”
Additionally, Gwen Stefani considers Shelton “a blessing.” Now she feels like she has a chance at happiness with the fellow singer.
“What don’t I love about Blake? He’s just such a good guy,” she says, calling him “my best friend.”
Stefani and Shelton are planning on marrying in a small ceremony. Wedding plans continue for some time this year. Additionally, the wedding is going to take place at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch. He even built a chapel there for Stefani.
More New Music From Gwen Stefani is Coming ‘Soon’
Stefani just released her newest hit single, “Let Me Reintroduce Myself.”
As a matter of fact, the singer says there’s more where that came from.
“I have all the songs. I wrote a song yesterday. I’m still writing and I’m writing a song tomorrow and I’m just going to edit you know and try and get the best of the best,” the former No Doubt frontwoman explains. “As soon as they say I can put it out… so soon.”
