Gwen Stefani isn’t letting her recent engagement to Blake Shelton stand in the way of victory. To her, the man is but a “competitor” for ‘The Voice’ finale.
Unbelievably, it’s already finale time for The Voice. For the 19th time! Season 19 has proven gold for fans of newly engaged couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. But how are the two handling all this competition after the shows return?
Blake Shelton, for his part, is “very happy” to have Gwen Stefani back on the show. But the Voice star – who’s an original coach and has stuck around the longest by far – isn’t letting love blind him. “I think it’ll be very interesting, and will open up a whole new dynamic with the coaches,” he says of his work with Stefani.
“Having Gwen back, though, I think is very comforting for all the coaches. We all feel like we’re able to just go back to the game we already knew,” Shelton continues in our previous coverage. “We all know how to play each other at this thing. It kinda felt like the old gang got back together again and we’re having a blast.”

Gwen Stefani, however, isn’t back to play nice. Taking to Twitter today, the pop icon says that this week, she and Shelton are “competitors”. It’s all in good fun, we’re sure, but wouldn’t it be fun to watch her beat her “King of the Voice”?
“This week…we’re competitors 😈 can’t believe we’re already at the finale week of #TheVoice!” Stefani tweets. “It’s #TeamGwen for me, sorry @blakeshelton. GO @carterjrubin!! ❤️ gx.”
Stefani is the “Most Amazing Coach”
Moreover, Coach Gwen Stefani has a loving pupil in young Carter Rubin. Stefani tags her young protege in today’s tweet, and Rubin is returning the favor.
Posting to Twitter in anticipation of said finals, as well, Rubin clarifies that “Tonight begins the FINALS! Remember to use all four methods and submit 10 votes on each method for a total of 40 votes!”
“Not just for me,” he continues, “but for @gwenstefani who is the most amazing coach and deserves her first win! see you all tonight,” he concludes.
