Let’s just say it. Bridget Moynahan is redefining what 50 looks like. The Blue Bloods star celebrates one of those decade birthdays, today, and she’s embracing it.

“I am really excited about turning 50,” the Blue Bloods star told NewBeauty.com. “I feel great. And I look great. I don’t know, I don’t seem very fazed by it at all. I’m just really excited for it to happen. Is that weird?”

Yes, it is kind of weird. But not all 50-year-olds look like Bridget Moynahan, the actress and former model. She’s worked on a hit show for 11 years. And she’s also a wife and mother. It all looks pretty perfect from the outside looking in.

In honor of turning 50, let’s take a look at the Bridget Moynahan timeline and some of her best moments.

Bridget Moynahan and the Sex and the City Seasons

Bridget Moynahan was an established fashion model when she decided to take acting lessons. The first time the American TV audience noticed her was when she showed up on HBO’s Sex and the City in 1999.

And Moynahan didn’t play a popular character. She was the other woman who really wasn’t. Sex and the City was all about single girl Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker. Bradshaw loved Mr. Big (Chris Noth), her on-again/off-again boyfriend. But for a while, the two were definitely off. That’s when Mr. Big met and married Natasha, portrayed by Bridget Moynahan. And Natasha was cool, elegant, tall, young and perfect. She looked like a Ralph Lauren model. But Mr. Big soon grew tired of having a perfect wife and he began cheating on Natasha with Carrie.

Bridget Moynahan was in seven episodes of Sex and the City scattered over 1999-2000.

In a recent interview, Moynahan called her role and the show “a gift that keeps giving,” especially considering there’s renewed talk about another movie sequel. Carrie married Mr. Big in the first movie after the TV show ended.

“It’s always nice to go back,” Moynahan said, “and have the energy around that show, which really was one of the first projects I did. It really was the jump-start of my career. I’ve always felt really great about that.”

Moynahan also enjoyed a break through role in the 2000 movie Coyote Ugly. She played one of the sassy, dancing, beautiful bartenders.

So What About the Tom Brady Years?

Bridget Moynahan, at least for a while, was known more for her boyfriend. That was Tom Brady, who was then the quarterback of the New England Patriots.

The two dated for two years but broke up in December 2006. Then she found out she was pregnant. But Brady already had moved on. He was dating supermodel Giselle Bundchen.

Moynahan gave birth to Jack as a single parent. But she enjoys an amicable relationship with Brady, who won the Super Bowl in February for the Tampa Bay Bucs, and his wife.

“Tom and I made a decision to raise a child together,” Moynahan wrote in her 2018 book. “And we both found partners that not only supported us in raising that child, but also loved our child as if he was their own. I don’t think you can ask for more than that. My son is surrounded by love.”

Moynahan married businessman Andrew Frankel in 2015.

Moynahan Landed Her Best Role in Blue Bloods

Moynahan and her Blue Bloods family carved out a special spot on Friday night TV. In Erin Reagan, she plays a strong woman with her own distinct identity. She’s a mother, a daughter, sister and a tough, smart lawyer. And Moynahan has played that part for 11 seasons. CBS recently picked up the show for another year.

Moynahan is the daughter of Tom Selleck’s character, Frank Reagan. Selleck is the New York City police commissioner. And Erin Reagan is the bureau chief of the Manhattan district attorney’s office. She’s the second oldest of Frank Reagan’s four children. Erin also has a daughter of her own.

So Happy Birthday, Bridget Moynahan. Thanks for redefining 50.
