Eric Christian Olsen is celebrating turning 43 today.

The actor is most known for his current role as Detective Marty Deeks on the CBS show, “NCIS: Los Angeles.”

He first appeared in the series in season one. He was in two episodes, but then eventually came back as a series regular in the second season of the show. Since 2010 he’s consistently been a core character alongside Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Peter Cambor, Adam Jamal Craig, and his sister-in-law Daniela Ruah.

The series was renewed for a 13th season, so Olsen will continue to solve crime in Los Angeles as Marty Deeks.

While he’s known for his role on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Eric Christian Olsen has several other projects under his belt from over the years. He currently lives in Malibu, California.

Eric Christian Olsen’s Other Roles

Eric Christian Olsen got his first major role in the 1999 TV movie “Arthur’s Quest.”

In terms of TV shows, his starring role in Fox’s “Get Real” went on for a year. He played Cameron Green starting in 1999.

As for a big-screen role, Olsen got to share the screen with major Hollywood actor Ben Affleck for the 2001 film “Pearl Harbor.” Michael Bay directed the American war drama and it stars Ben Affleck and Kate Beckinsale. He had a small role in Affleck’s gunner.

Eric Christian Olsen soon moved onto less dramatic roles as well. He was Austin in the popular teen film, “Not Another Teen Movie” and Lloyd Christmas in “Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.”

He acts alongside Chris Evans in the 2004 movie “Cellular,” an American crime thriller. From 2006 to 2007 he appears in “The Last Kiss,” “Beerfest,” and “License to Wed” as well. He’s supposed to star in an upcoming film called “Mojave,” but little is currently known about that.

His brother David Paul Olsen is married to Daniela Ruah from “NCIS: Los Angeles”. According to IMDb, Olsen’s brother has been his stunt double on the show since 2009. While they live in California now, Eric Christian Olsen was born in Oregon and then eventually moved to Iowa.

While he works in California, he also enjoys spending time at his beautiful vacation home in Jackson, Wyoming. He shopped for this house on an episode of “House Hunters” with his wife at his side. The couple has two children — a boy and a girl.

As a star on the screen, Olsen has certainly learned a lot about off-screen work in the process. He even has his own production company called “Cloud Nine Productions.”
