This summer, Harrison Ford suffered severe injuries while filming the fifth installment of Indiana Jones. But now he’s feeling better, and he’s back on set.
In June, Ford injured his shoulder while rehearsing a fight scene for Indiana Jones at Pinewood Studios. Disney had hoped that Ford would be able to return to work within a few weeks. But he ended up needing surgery, and doctors forced him to take three months off to recover.
“It was not what anyone was expecting,” the producers announced. “So to have to change everything is a huge blow.”
The Star Wars actor spent his time recuperating in London, which is near the studios in Buckinghamshire. And according to pictures obtained by The Sun, the 79-year-old is back behind cameras in his archeologist garb.
“Everyone’s relieved to see him back and fighting fit,” a source told The Sun.“It’s been a long ten-week wait for him and the crew.”
Indiana Jones 5 was originally expected to drop on July 9th, 2021. But because of COVID and Ford’s injury, the new release date is in June of 2023.

Many of us thought that when Harrison Ford stepped down from his role as the iconic archeologist, the character would retire forever. And the movies would cease. But it looks like Indiana Jones may go the way of James Bond and continue with a new face.
According to The Daily Mail, Disney has its eye on Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The company, which brought Indy to life in 1981 may want her to be the main character in future Jones movies.
An insider told Daily Mail that producer Kathleen Kennedy isn’t ready to say goodbye to Indiana Jones. Instead, she’s thinking about making “big” and “bold” changes with upcoming installments. And she’d love to cast a woman as the lead.
“It would be a huge statement,” said one of the insiders. “And a great role for Phoebe.”
Kennedy’s spokesperson and Disney have stayed silent on the matter. But the comedian is currently starring alongside Ford in the fifth movie. And people say that her character is being groomed by Indiana Jones so she can carry his adventures forward.
“The gossip on the set is that this character will slot into the leading role,” the source continued.
