Everyone’s favorite “Today” host, Hoda Kotb, is kicking off her Labor Day weekend the way we all want to – at a Zac Brown Band concert. We’re glad to see her taking a much needed break this holiday and enjoying time with family and friends.

The star looked ecstatic as she shared a photo to Instagram Friday. Along with her fiancée, the star posed with some friends. The group was all smiles post-concert.

“What a concert!!!!!! Thank you @zacbrownband,” Kotb captioned the post.

Zac Brown Band’s concert was two-part event in Wantaugh, New York, which kicked off September 2 at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater. With several more shows to come across the country, the “Comeback Tour” is off to a fantastic start.

Hoda Kotb’s Journey to ‘Today’

Before Hoda Kotb captured the hearts of Americans everywhere, she was just like the rest of us, searching for a job and trying to prove she had the chops to make it.

In an interview with Glamour, Kotb opened up about how she got her start on NBC’s “Today.”

“When I was looking for a job initially, I got so many rejections. I didn’t stop to question why so many news directors didn’t think I was good enough. But there were lots of them.”

While superstars like Oprah admitted to struggling with rejections before she became a household name, Kotb also had her fair share of rejection.

The star said she had at least 30 rejections. She was also told she just wasn’t good enough to make it. If that’s the motivation she needed to keep going, well, it worked out in her favor.

“I just kept going until someone hired me – that [it only takes one ‘yes’] philosophy worked for me. It just reminded me, you only need one person who thinks you’re good enough,” Kotb said.

After receiving some solid advice from friends about how to interview people and get them to open up, Kotb kept working to hone her skills and not pay too much attention to negative criticism.

“‘It’s hard to hate up close.’ That quote probably resonates the most for me during this time. The more you know about someone – not just their political views, but that they have children, or sick loved ones, you start to learn how they are – it’s hard to hate,” she said.

It’s safe to say Kotb’s expertise and drive led her to her dream role on the “Today” show. She’s now interviewed some of the biggest politicians, stars and experts while breaking news. And she’s managed to capture all ur hearts while doing it.
