Police in Florida reportedly took Bam Margera back in rehab this week following another troubling incident. It’s the latest incident for the Jackass star who has been in a troubling spiral for the past several years while battling addictions to alcohol and drugs.

Police received a call about an emotionally disturbed person at the Don CeSar Resort Hotel in St. Pete Beach on Sunday, TMZ reported. They arrived to find Bam Margera, though it was not clear what he was doing that warranted the call to authorities. He wasn’t arrested, but deputies said he had an outstanding court order to go to rehab. Police picked him up and drove him to a Florida facility to get help.

It’s been a difficult year for the fallen celebrity. Producers fired the former Viva La Bam star off of the latest installment of the Jackass movie franchise, Jackass Forever. He reportedly violated the terms of a “wellness agreement” he had with the production team, Variety reported. The agreement said he had to submit to drugs and alcohol tests to participate in filming. Doctors also put him on a series of medications to help him manage his addictions. But he tested positive for Adderall, which doctors hadn’t prescribed, and producers fired him from the film.

Producers Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, and Spike Jonze then tried to get him back into a rehab facility earlier this year, but Margera refused. Margera slammed the film and its cast in a series of bizarre videos on Instagram where he threw up on camera and asked fans to send him money.

Knoxville addressed the situation to GQ in May.

“I don’t want to get into a public back-and-forth with Bam,” Knoxville said. “I just want him to get better.”

Margera sued the production last month, citing “psychological torture.”

Studio Delays ‘Jackass Forever’ Until 2022

Fans hoping to watch the latest installment of Jackass will have to wait until next year. Jackass Forever was supposed to be released next month, but Paramount pushed the released date until February 4, 2022. Johnny Knoxville said it was moved because of COVID-19. The studio delayed several other movies as well including the much-awaited sequel Top Gun: Maverick.

Johnny Knoxville announced the delay in an Instagram video where he defaced a billboard for the movie by spray painting the new release date on it.

Knoxville says Jackass: Forever will be his last foray into the abuse-for-profit franchise. He told GQ that he is getting too old to continue doing the death-defying stunts. The risks to his health were becoming too real.

“You can only take so many chances before something irreversible happens,” the actor said.
