Jackie Stallone, mother of actor Sylvester Stallone, passed away on Monday (Sept. 21.) She was 98.

Her son Frank Stallone announced Jackie’s passing in a Facebook tribute. He said she had died in her sleep early Monday morning. He said that his brother Sylvester “took care of her like a Queen for all of her life.”

“She was a remarkable woman, working out every day, full of spunk and fearless. She died in her sleep as she had wished. It was hard not to like her, she was very eccentric and flamboyant person…She lived through prohibition, the depression and World War II. I would talk to her for hours about the 20s 30s and 40s. It was a history lesson. Her mind was as sharp as a razor till the day she died,” he wrote on Facebook.

Jackie Stallone had an astrology career.

Jacqueline Frances Labofish was born on Nov. 29, 1921 in Washington, D.C. She worked a variety of jobs including a trapeze artist, dancer and hairdresser. In 1945, she married Frank Stallone Sr. The couple shared two kids together: Sylvester in 1946 and Frank Jr. in 1950. Jackie gave birth to her third child D’Alto with her second husband, Anthony Filiti. D’Alto passed away in 2012.

In the 1990s, Jackie became a minor celebrity in her own right. She published a series of astrology books and also started her own psychic hotline. She appeared on the 1980s wrestling program GLOW or Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. According to her website, Jackie advised “kings, prime ministers, politicians, movie stars, gamblers, generals, gangsters, cops and priests” through astrology.

Throughout her career, Jackie also appeared on a variety of talk shows including The Howard Stern Show, Oprah and The Late Show With David Letterman. In 2005, Jackie appeared on the British reality show Celebrity Big Brother. She was voted out after four days.

“I will never be able to call my mom again or have her yell at me why I never got married . But we all loved her and her sprit to survive and prevail . I’ll miss you always mommy,” Frank said in the Facebook post.

Jackie Stallone is survived by her third husband, Stephen Levine, sons Sylvester and Frank, and grandchildren Seargeoh, Sistine, Sophia, Scarlet and Edmund.
