An old photo popping up on his mobile phone reminded “JAG” star Jeffrey Dean Morgan of his old friend and co-star, Bill Paxton. So, Morgan took to social media over the weekend to pay tribute to the late actor. Paxton passed away in 2017 after suffering a stroke.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Aug. 21, Morgan, who has also starred in “The Walking Dead,” shared a photo of him and Paxton in costume and on set between filming scenes.

“This popped up today on my phone memories. G******, I Miss him. So much. Never known anyone quite like Bill. Never will. Loved him with a passion. Everyone lucky enough to know him did. Xxxjd,” Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared.

Bill Paxton was 61 years old at the time of his death.

According to PEOPLE, Morgan and Paxton were most likely on the set of the History Channel miniseries, “Texas Rising.” The show, which was set in Texas following the Battle of the Alamo, originally aired in 2015. It also dramatized the beginnings of the Texas Rangers while the Texas Revolution was taking place. In this miniseries, the now 55-year-old Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast as Captain Deaf Smith. Bill Paxton portrayed General Sam Houston.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Wasn’t the Only Co-Star of Bill Paxton Who Paid Tribute to Him Over the Weekend

Jeffrey Dean Morgan wasn’t the only former co-star who paid tribute to Bill Paxton on social media over the weekend. Another was his “Big Love” co-star Amanda Seyfried. This HBO drama followed Paxton’s character, Bill Hendrickson, and his life with his three wives and their family. Seyfried, who is now 35, played one of Hendrickson’s daughters. Playing his wives were Ginnifer Goodwin, Jeanne Tripplehorn, and Chloe Sevigny.

On Friday, Aug. 20, Seyfried posted an old photo of her with Bill Paxton to Instagram. She shares the same high opinion of the late actor as Jeffrey Dean Morgan does.

“Bill and me. Sorting through the thousands of photos I’ve packed away over the years has been mostly fun but every once in a while I find one that brings me to my knees. I got so lucky to know this man and feel his bright, warm light so often while playing his daughter on ‘Big Love.’ He was wonderful and so deeply loved and I miss him,” Seyfried shared.

In response to Seyfried’s post, actor Aaron Paul also praised Paxton. “What a beautiful and rare light that man was. My god,” Paul said.

Bill Paxton died on Feb. 25, 2017. His death was reportedly caused from a stroke he suffered. He had surgery 11 days prior to his death. After his death, his family filed a wrongful death lawsuit. They sued the doctor who performed the surgery, as well as the hospital where it took place.
