James Corden and CBS’ “The Late Late Show” has listened to thousands of people’s concerns and criticisms over a specific, popular segment on the late-night show.

Corden often has his guests participate in what is known as “Spill Your Guts.”

He lines up foods that are considered to be “gross” on a Russian Roulette-type wheel. The guest spins the wheel and is then confronted with two choices — answer a difficult personal question or eat the food item in front of them.

However, several viewers made a connection between what items “The Late Late Show” were considering gross. This segment is being called “incredibly culturally offensive” by thousands on the internet. According to Entertainment Weekly, a TikTok user named Kim Saira pointed out that several of the items used on the game are “actual Asian food.”

Meanwhile, Corden had referred to some of these food items as “really disgusting” and “horrific.”

She then created a Change.org petition. The goal was for two things to hopefully happen in the process — Corden would issue an apology and the show would proceed to get rid of the segment. Her petition picked up a lot of traction online. She ended up with nearly 45,000 signatures.

A part of the petition reads, “In the wake of the constant Asian hate crimes that have continuously been occurring, not only is this segment incredibly culturally offensive and insensitive, but it also encourages anti-Asian racism. So many Asian Americans are consistently bullied and mocked for their native foods, and this segment amplifies and encourages it.”

James Corden did in fact address the controversy. While the show isn’t necessarily getting rid of the bit, there are some changes in store. The food items being used would definitely get a makeover.

“As you said at the start, we want to make a show that’s full of joy. We don’t want to make a show that upsets anybody … We completely understand. I don’t know when we’re gonna do that bit again, but when we do we absolutely won’t use any of those foods. It’s not for us to determine whether somebody’s upset or hurt about something. All we can do is go, ‘All right. We get it. We hear you … won’t do that,'” Corden said in a recent episode of “The Late Late Show.”

James Corden On Show’s Goals

James Corden has hosted “The Late Late Show” since 2014.

Since then, Corden has entertained millions of people with A-list celebrities, hilarious skits, and his infamous “Carpool Karaoke” segment.

As a talk show host he has one goal in mind — to entertain his viewers and guests to the best of his ability.

“We are more than comfortable talking about anything. We also feel like we’re an entertainment show. Our primary concern is to just try and make you laugh somehow.  That’s really what we love to do. And– I’ll really stop at nothing to try. It may not always work. But I’ll give it my best shot, you know,” James Corden said during a recent interview on “60 Minutes.”
