Country musician Jason Aldean isn’t taking any flak from fans who want to bust his chops for a maskless Disney World photo.

The singer and his family visited the Florida theme park this weekend. Aldean then tweeted a photo of himself with his wife Brittany, son Memphis and daughters Kendyl, Keeley and Navy. None of them were wearing masks in the picture.

Aldean Responds to Backlash

“Perfect day with my whole crew today @WaltDisneyWorld,” Aldean added. “There is Nothing like seeing ur kids’ faces when u walk in that place.”

Aldean immediately faced a Twitter backlash over the photo. The tweet and its replies are now unavailable. But according to Taste of Country, one fan really chewed Aldean out.

“Wtf are your masks?” she tweeted. “Everyone is required to wear them? WTH who do you think you are? I’ll never buy your music ever!!!”

Aldean responded swiftly to her tweet.

“Chill out lady,” he wrote. “They are in our pocket. We took them off for 5 seconds to take the pic. Believe me, Disney didn’t give us a ‘free pass’ not to wear them. We had them on all day just like everybody else.”

When the state of Florida entered Phase 3, Governor Ron DeSantis issued an executive order rolling back mask mandates. But Disney still required visitors to wear face coverings when visiting the theme park.

New Normal

Aldean recently admitted that he has a love-hate relationship with face masks. But he told Taste of Country Nights that he’s gotten used to taking a mask with him everywhere he goes – including, apparently, to Disney World.

“It’s [now] normal for you to go, ‘OK, I need my wallet, my keys and my mask to go somewhere,’” he said.

Plus, as a celebrity, Aldean enjoys the anonymity that masks afford.

“The mask, as much as I hate ’em, has been kind of cool because you kind of blend in with everybody else,” he added.
