As the host of one of television’s most popular game shows, Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek had a profound effect on many lives. One such life the long-time host had an impact on is that of his adoptive daughter, Nicky Trebek.

Nicky caught the entertainment bug from her famous father and has dabbled in several venues. She first tried a musical journey, putting out a six-song LP and single called “Every Beat of Your Heart.” She has also done quite a bit of behind-the-scenes work, including assisting her father in special editions of Jeopardy! She’s worked on multiple feature films and serves as a model for brands such as Cosmopolitan, Vogue and Mademoiselle. She is currently the owner and designer of her own clothing line.

On Wednesday, Nicky took to social media to share a photo and post a message of missing her late father. With a glass figurine of an angel in her hand, she says she is missing her father every day.

In a series of hashtags, Nicky writes “Missing you every day,” “Dad angel” and “extraordinary angel.”

Nicky’s Wednesday afternoon Instagram post took in dozens of “likes” and comments. Some social media users used the comments to share with Nicky that they also miss Alex Trebek.

Jeopardy! Using Guest Hosts to Fill in For Alex Trebek

The long-time Jeopardy host passed away late last year at the age of 80. He had recorded his final episode of Jeopardy! just days before his death on November 8, losing his battle to pancreatic cancer. Trebek hosted Jeopardy for 37 years beginning in 1984. During that time he collected numerous awards and accolades, including winning six Emmy Awards. He also has stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Canada Walk of Fame.

Jeopardy! executives have turned to guest hosts to fill in for Trebek until a permanent replacement can be found. Currently, journalist and best-selling author Katie Couric is serving as the show’s guest host. Former Jeopardy! winner Ken Jennings and executive producer Mike Richards have also had turns as guest hosts. Green quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Dr. Mehmet Oz and journalist Anderson Cooper will each take turns as hosts in the coming weeks.
