Another new guest host is now standing behind the late Alex Trebek’s famous podium on “Jeopardy!” This new guest host is CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
And just like the guest hosts before him, Cooper will be raising money for charity during his brief stint on the famous quiz show.
Ahead of his appearance as the show’s guest host, Cooper talked about his charities during an interview shared on the show’s YouTube page. He chose to donate funds from his stint as guest host to two organizations instead of just one. He also chose to donate funds from his first week on “Jeopardy!” to one of the charities and funds from the second week to the other.
“I picked two different organizations,” Cooper said during the interview. “For the first week, I’m playing for the Albert Schweitzer Hospital, which is in Haiti. And, it’s a really … It’s a top-of-the-line hospital. And, it’s in a country that really needs good medical care and where a lot of people don’t have access to medical care, can’t afford it. And, this is a hospital that serves people who are really in need – a lot of women, a lot of children. They do great work. So, I’m really happy to be able to raise some money for them.”
Anderson Cooper will also be raising funds during his second week on “Jeopardy!” for another organization that is helping people across the world. The name of this second organization is Justice Defenders.
“The other organization I’m raising money for is Justice Defenders,” Cooper said. “ad, they work to defend the defenseless in communities in East Africa. To provide attorneys and paralegals for people who can’t afford to have an attorney, but really, really need one.”
