As Anderson Cooper begins his second week behind the Jeopardy podium, the TV personality thanks the show for the massive amount already raised.

After one week as Jeopardy guest host, Anderson Cooper boasts an impressive amount of money raised for the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti.

Anderson Cooper Thanks All Involved

Each celebrity guest host chooses a charity to represent while on the show. Additionally, Jeopardy has agreed to match the contestants’ winnings during each host’s tenure. The show will donate that amount to a charity of their choice, as they’ve done with every host so far.

In just one week, Cooper raised $118,000, to which Jeopardy will double.

In a social media post from this morning, the interim host thanks every contestant that has been featured on the show during his time and aiding in the fundraising.

According to Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti Twitter page, the generous non-profit “collaborates with the people of the Artibonite Valley to improve their health and quality of life. Together we can provide care for those most in need.”

In addition, HAS has been serving Haiti’s Artibonite Valley with 24/7 health care through its “131-bed hospital and four community health centers” for a remarkable 65+ years now.

Very impressive!

Massive Donations Already Made

In comparison, the last Jeopardy guest host, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers donated $236,725 to the North Valley Community Foundation. Rodgers charity went toward helping small businesses that have been affected by COVID-19 in the Chico, California area.

Previous host Katie Couric also boasted a high amount of money raised for Stand Up to Cancer. The non-profit hits close to home for both Jeopardy fans and Couric.

Couric, unfortunately, lost her husband in 1998 to colon cancer. Additionally, Alex Trebek died in November after an 18 month battle with stage four pancreatic cancer.

In all, Katie Couric, with the help of Jeopardy’s match, raised $230,504 for the worthy foundation.

Jeopardy Hosts to Come

As for future Jeopardy hosts, the notable names continue with plenty of worthy celebrities fighting for the show’s permanent position.

Hosts on this star-studded list include Today host Savannah Guthrie, actress Mayim Bialik, “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker, CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta, NFL commentator Joe Buck and most recently announced, LeVar Burton.

We are excited to see how the men and women match up. Furthermore, Outsider is thrilled by the efforts make for their respected charities!
