Popular quiz show Jeopardy! is known to produce competitive matches, pitting the intellectual elite against each other for prize money.

Jeopardy! also prides itself on educating the world and providing useful facts and figures for public consumption. Show officials also use their social media accounts for the same purpose. Stop by the Jeopardy! Instagram page and you’re likely to learn all sorts of new information. Both the show and its social media pages are truly a treasure trove of knowledge and information that many have come to appreciate.

On its Instagram page, Jeopardy! is celebrating World Art Day the best way it knows how. Encouraging social media users to explore their creative side with an image from Mental Floss.

“It’s World Art Day!” the post’s caption exclaims. “Time to show off your creative side.””

The image from Jeopardy! tells the story of a picture book artist who would go on to influence modern artistry.

“Katsushika Hokusai, most famous for ‘The Great Wave,’ published picture books called “Hokusai Manga” beginning in 1814,” it reads. “Though different than modern iterations, his version of “Manga” popularized the term and influenced Western artists like Edgar Degas.”

Jeopardy! Celebrates World Art Day on Social Media

World Art Day is celebrated each year on April 15, to correlate with the birthday of famous artist Leonardo Da Vinci. According to Calendarr, World Art Day was established by the International Association of Art (IAA). Its purpose is to raise worldwide attention to the work of international artists and the ways of creative expression that exist.

Jeopardy! officials have had to find their creative side since the passing of longtime host Alex Trebek. Since his death in late 2020, the show is featuring celebrities serving as guest hosts. To this date, five different celebrities have had turns at the host’s podium.

Former champion Ken Jennings, executive producer Mike Richards, journalist Katie Couric and talk show host, Dr. Mehmet Oz, have had turns as host. NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers is currently serving as guest host, though his reign will come to a close on Friday. He will then turn over Jeopardy! hosting duties to journalist Anderson Cooper beginning Monday. He will be followed by journalist Bill Whitaker, actress Mayim Bialik, journalist Savannah Guthrie and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
