‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Matt Amodio Has Perfect Reaction to Watching Game Show

Jeopardy! champion Matt Amodio has the perfect reaction to watching Jeopardy!. The champion made headlines earlier this year with an incredible winning streak during a tumultuous transition between hosts and guest hosts.

His winning streak may be over, but it’s clear his love for Jeopardy! is not. The champ took to Twitter to compare his reaction to a Jeopardy! moment with a Wayne’s World Gif.

“Tonight I found out what happens when a Wayne’s World gif and my mind during the #Jeopardy think music merge,” he wrote.

Matt Amodio has Hilarious Banter with Fellow ‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Ken Jennings

Even though Amodio may have been on a mission to crush Ken Jenning’s record, their rivalry is clearly a playful and friendly one. The two often make hilarious comments about each other on Twitter. When it was announced that Ken Jennings will step in as guest host for a bit, Amodio quickly dropped a funny “fact” about Jennings as a host.

“Most people don’t realize that when @KenJennings hosts #Jeopardy, they only write the categories ahead-of-time, and then he just says five clues that come to him on the spot,” he joked.

Amodio and Jennings have jokingly poked fun of each other, along with champ James Holzhauer.

While people are bummed Amodio’s winning streak is over, his time on Jeopardy! isn’t. The champion is returning for the tournament of champions, and fans of the show are excited to see him compete again.

Ken Jennings is Back to Hosting

As mentioned by Amodio, Jennings is back to being a host again. He was the first to host the show following the passing of Alex Trebek. Before the controversial appointment of now-ousted executive producer Mike Richards, a lot of fans thought Jennings was a shoo-in for the full-time position.

His return to the hosting gig following a stint of guest hosting by Mayim Bialik came on the anniversary of Alex Trebek’s death. But he wasn’t told this while filming.

“They didn’t want to put that in my head,” Jennings told Cinema Blend. “So I was not told until after that it was the Nov. 8 show.”

He admitted that the decision was probably a good one. Alex Trebek’s shoes are impossible to fill, and knowing the episode would air on the anniversary of his death would add even more pressure to Jennings. He was already prepared for the hosting gig to be a challenge.

“I knew that it was going to be a very difficult task,” he said. “Much less the idea that you’re trying to step into the shoes of Alex Trebek, which is impossible.”

Now, if you want to tune in to episodes of Jeopardy! as they come out, you’ll find Ken Jennings at the helm for now. The quest for a permanent host, however, continues.
