One week down and one more to go for quarterback and Jeopardy! guest host Aaron Rodgers. Is it all up from here, or are his best days behind him?

Aaron Rodgers Week 1

After his first week as host, there have been mixed reviews on Aaron Rodgers’s performance. While some thought he was “smooth, loose, and funny without overdoing it,” others said he is “not a star guest host, but he’s a good backup.”

What do you think?

Aaron Rodgers is currently the fifth celebrity to serve as guest host on the popular game show after the death of the beloved Alex Trebek, who unfortunately died in November at the age of 80. He was the host of Jeopardy! for 36 years.

The game show’s social media account teased with week with a short clip from Rodgers that states, “I’m really looking forward to this week.”

Yeah! Aren’t we all?

“Another week with guest host @AaronRodgers12 continues!”

Other Guest Hosts

Others that have already taken the podium for their two-week stint including Jeopardy! royalty Ken Jennings, executive producer Mike Richards, Today show host Katie Couric, and TV personality Dr. Oz.

However, the fun doesn’t stop there. After Rodgers’s reign, the star-studded list continues with more talented and notable names. Some hosts still waiting for their turn in the Jeopardy! spotlight including TV personality Anderson Cooper, Today host Savannah Guthrie, actress Mayim Bialik, “60 Minutes” correspondent Bill Whitaker, and CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

Prior to Aaron Rodgers and Dr. Oz’s time on the show, the Twitter world voted between Jennings, Richards, and Couric to see who was best equipped for the job. Although the vote was tight between Jennings and Richards, Ken Jennings led the vote with 40-percent.

We can effectively count out Katie Couric from the running, and after the negative feedback Dr. Oz received, we could probably boot him as well.

However, we would need an updated poll to see how Aaron Rodgers weighs into the competition.

Money Raised

Additionally, Jeopardy! has agreed to match the contestants’ winnings during each host’s time and donate that amount to a charity of their choosing. In Rodgers’ first week as guest host, the show has raised a staggering $117,725 for the North Valley Community Foundation.

Katie Couric currently holds the record for the most money raised, with $230,504 acquired for Stand Up To Cancer, a cause that hits close to home for Couric and the Jeopardy! family.
