National Football League superstar Aaron Rodgers is off to a good start in his two-week tenure as Jeopardy! guest host.

The Green Bay Packers franchise quarterback’s first episode of his Jeopardy! stint went off without a hitch. Much as he is on the football field, Rodgers was cool, calm and in control throughout Monday’s match. Rodgers previously won a celebrity edition of Jeopardy! and looks completely comfortable at the host’s podium.

Monday’s contestants were also helpful, providing a smooth ride for the brand-new guest host. The reigning NFL Most Valuable Player interacted well with the Jeopardy! contestants and vice versa. Of course, when your host is one of the best players in the NFL, there is going to be a little “hazing” from the contestants toward the rookie moderator. That is exactly what one contestant did during the “Final Jeopardy!” segment of Monday’s show. Caught a little off guard, Rodgers regains his composure and laughs at the hilarious answer. His behind-the-scenes reaction was caught on camera. Jeopardy! put the video on their social media accounts for all to see.

“You saw today’s Final Jeopardy!” the post exclaims. “Now here’s an exclusive behind-the-scenes chat with Aaron Rodgers’ response.”

The Monday evening Instagram post took in more than 9,000 “likes” and well over 100 comments.

After the ‘Final Jeopardy!’ clue was given, returning champion Scott Shewfelt could not come up with the correct answer. Instead, he took the opportunity to poke a little fun at the quarterback and his Green Bay Packers team.

“Who wanted to kick that field goal?” is the response Shewfelt gave to the host. The response obviously caught Rodgers off guard as he was hesitant to respond.

Shewfelt’s response is a touchy subject for the quarterback. Rodgers and the Packers lost the NFC Championship to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in part due to a questionable decision to kick a field goal from the six-yard line as time was winding down.

A good sport, Rodgers took the commercial break time to tell the contestant he actually thinks his comment is funny.

“You will always be all-time in my book, my friend,” he says. “My first show and that what’s you’ve said at the end.”

Rodgers will remain the Jeopardy! host for the remainder of the week and all of next week.
