Tonight is the last night of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ 10-day guest hosting job on “Jeopardy!”
He started out behind the podium next to the clue board on Monday, April 5. So far, Rodgers’ time on the show has been regarded as pretty positive on social media. Fans love his subtle jokes and his conversation with the different contestants.

Rodgers himself has a long past with “Jeopardy!” He once revealed that he has been watching since he was little at his grandparent’s house. Now it has become a part of his daily routine. Before going on the show, Rodgers studied clips of Alex Trebek hosting and took notes, like a true NFL quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers has always embraced what he calls the more “nerdy” side of himself. He did so when he went on an episode of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” in 2015 and earned $50,000 for charity.
Now, his success as a quarterback and his self-affiliation as a “nerd” has made him that much more of a likable host of “Jeopardy!” At least, that’s what Rodgers said in a recent interview.
“I bring an audience from the NFL, and I feel like I appeal to nerdy people, too, because I was a nerd in high school and got caught in that weird phase of wanting to be a jock and an athlete and also really caring about getting good grades,” Rodgers said in an interview with The Ringer.
Besides the normal “Jeopardy!” audience, Rodgers has attracted football fans, or Green Bay Packers fans specifically, to watch every night. Rodgers said that he likes to highlight people in a different way during the beginning of the show when contestants’ fun facts are revealed. He said he’ll try to find a unique part of the fun fact notecard before filming. He has highlighted a contestant running a marathon and another learning jiu-jitsu.
“I’ve spent so many years watching those interviews and some of those things seem super, super nerdy — like, wow, why would you admit that, almost. So I would try to choose facts that maybe highlighted some of their personality that wasn’t as nerdy,” Rodgers said.
Aaron Rodgers Popular Moment on ‘Jeopardy!’
Despite just being a guest host, Aaron Rodgers has tried to put his own spin on the show.
One of Rodgers’ most popular moments on the show was on April 13. He asked the question, “In the 1960s these midwesterners earned five NFL championship trophies.” The answer was the Green Bay Packers, but the contestants were silently stumped.
The buzzer went off and Rodgers gave a defeated look as he gave the answer, causing a chuckle from the audience and contestants. The next question was “They swept over the NBA, winning the title every year from 1959 to 1966.” The answer was the Boston Celtics. Rodgers then sassily quipped, “Oh, so you know that one.”
Some fans of the show really enjoy Rodgers’ distinctly dry sense of humor. Others, however, interpret it as lacking a personality.
Regardless, Rodgers’ time on the show is now coming to an end. Starting next week, CNN host Anderson Cooper will be taking over from April 19 to April 30. He has competed on the show multiple times over the years.
