Jeopardy! guest host Joe Buck revealed his favorite memory of the late Alex Trebek.
In an interview with the official show’s YouTube account, Buck spoke about the legendary host. He called Trebek “meticulously awesome” and shared his admiration for him.
Buck said that he has always been in “awe” of Trebek hosting the show. “I think the ease in which he guided contestants through questions,” he said. “The smile, the warmth, the intellect.”
“I heard a while ago that Alex was a fan of my father, which meant a lot,” he said.
Joe Buck is the 51-year-old son of sportscaster Jack Buck. Joe himself became a Fox News sportscaster for both the MLB and NFL.
“My dad’s a hall of farmer for baseball and football,” he continued. “And to hear that, it really gave me a jolt of pride for my dad and for us. But I read his book cover to cover. Getting the chance to know him in his own words. And his philanthropic side which I had no idea that it was so extensive as it is. It really rounded out the person.”
Buck highly recommends the book to any fan. He noted that it makes you appreciate Trebek more and learn what’s important in life.
Buck’s hosting duties will be from August 9 through 13. The charity of his choice has a bigger meaning to him, as he’s worked with them for almost twenty years. in St. Louis, there is a charity called Kids Smart where the donations go to underprivileged kids who need basic school supplies. Jeopardy! matches the winnings to a donation of the guest host’s choosing.
Joe Buck marked the final guest host for the famed television show.

Richards is not only the executive producer for the trivia competition but also Wheel of Fortune.
