On Wednesday’s episode of Jeopardy!, interim host Katie Couric joked that a certain celebrity would be upset after the three contestants struggled to answer a particular question.

One of the contestants chose the $600 question from the “I’ve Won an Oscar and an Emmy” category. As always, the host gives the actual answer and the panel has to buzz in and name the correct question. The former Today anchor shared the answer, “Shakespeare in Love and Glee.” However, the movie and television show combination didn’t ring a bell for any of the contestants.

Since no one on the panel buzzed in, an amused Couric fired back, “She’s gonna be upset!” The guest host then revealed the celebrity in question: Gwyneth Paltrow. The actress won an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in 1999’s Shakespeare in Love. Additionally, Paltrow won a Guest Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy award for her 2011 Glee appearance.

Katie Couric’s interim run on Jeopardy! began on Monday, March 8, the same day as International Women’s Day. Her guest-hosting gig will last until March 19, and then Dr. Mehmet Oz will take over on March 22.

Katie Couric Opens up About Keeping Alex Trebek’s Spirit Alive

Earlier this week, Katie Couric opened up about her Jeopardy! guest-hosting role and spoke candidly about keeping longtime host Alex Trebek‘s spirit alive.

During a socially distant video interview with People, the journalist talked about her temporary role as host. Couric touched on a few different things related to the famous game show while talking with People.

She spoke about what she’s learned about herself while on Jeopardy!. In addition, she even cast her vote for former champion Ken Jennings to take over as the permanent host. Katie Couric also talked about the late Alex Trebek and shared some touching words about how his spirit is ever-present on the show.

“Alex Trebek was honestly so admired and heralded for being at the helm of that show for more than three decades. I think everyone was crushed when he passed away,” Kaite Couric explained. “But it’s a real honor to at least try to keep his spirit alive, and to be a part of what I think is not really a game show, but is really an American institution.”

“I think Alex’s spirit is very much alive in those halls and in that studio and in the make-up room, and everywhere. I think the folks there are still really hurting from that loss. So, I’m glad that I can just hopefully provide a bridge to whatever their plans are in the future. It made it very special for me. And I hope they feel that I did his memory justice,” Couric added.
