Step 1: Take and Pass the ‘Jeopardy!’ Test

According to the game show’s website, an interested player must take and pass the “Jeopardy!” Test. Additionally, the age requirements must be met as well, which is be 18-years or older. However, there are age rules for those that are interested in the teen or college tournaments.

After the “Jeopardy!” test is complete and the potential contestant receives a passing score, then they are placed into a random selection process for an invitation to audition.

Step 2: The Audition

The odds might continue to be stacked against you, but at this point, aspiring contestants are asked to audition. The auditions are currently being done over video contestants. However, qualifiers are then given an in-person online test. Those who pass this round will be notified within a couple of weeks.

Next up, a gameplay audition round. Then a mock version of the game is played, alongside two other qualifiers. Furthermore, contestants are then asked to tell a little bit more about themselves after the mock-game play.

Step 3: Contestant Pool

If the producers like what they see after the audition and the qualifier performs well, then they are placed into the contestant pool. Now, these potential contestants can be left swimming in this pool for up to 18 months after their names are dropped in.

What’s more, just because you make it to an audition doesn’t guarantee you’ll advance to actually be one of the three contestants “Jeopardy!”

The Wrinkle

There’s also another test called the Anytime Test. What’s the difference between the “Jeopardy!” Test and the Anytime Test, well here are the two explained via the game show website.

“Like the recent Jeopardy! Tests in January, the Jeopardy! Anytime Test is an entry point for anyone who wants to compete on Jeopardy! But now, it’s available to you at any time that is convenient for you. Passing the 50-question test is the first round of qualification. The format of the Anytime Test is the same as that of the scheduled Jeopardy! Test that is offered every year.”
