’Jeopardy!’: Here’s the Full Schedule of Guest Hosts

Since game show host Alex Trebek passed away last year, “Jeopardy!” has opted for a revolving door of guest hosts to fill the position in 2021. It marks a period of mourning for the show. Trebek left a pretty big role to fill and rather than try to find someone immediately, the show has been testing potential permanent hosts out.

Here is the full schedule and lineup for the upcoming guest hosts. Journalist Katie Couric will next take over the role, starting March 8 to March 19. Couric is best known for her hosting duties on “Today” and serving as a correspondent on “60 Minutes.”

From March 22 to April 2, Dr. Mehmet Oz will serve as host. Some “Jeopardy!” fans criticized the announcement. For some, Oz is a controversial figure, often delving into pseudosciences on his show “The Dr. Oz Show.” His views on COVID-19 medicine have also received backlash on social media.

After Dr. Oz, NFL Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will show off his trivia hosting skills from April 5 to April 16. Previously, Rodgers won the “Celebrity Jeopardy” special back in 2015, proving he’s both brains and braun. The athlete is excited to host the show.

The rest of the dates haven’t been announced. But journalist Anderson Cooper will take over, followed by Savannah Guthrie, Mayim Bialik, Bill Whitaker, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

‘Jeopardy!’ Explains Its Revolving Guest Hosts

Previous guest hosts include former “Jeopardy!” champ Ken Jennings and producer Mike Richards. Richards explained the importance of guest hosts on the show. It gives some distance between the future permanent host and Trebek’s iconic run in the position.

Additionally, it allows the show to test out a variety of people for the role with a few wild cards thrown in among big celebrities.

“We’re gonna look at… people that are credible giving the clues, people that can actually give the clues accurately. That are going to be able to rule right or wrong on the responses. And that ‘Jeopardy’ fans will enjoy in that role. But that will not try to make themselves the star. And will work to make the contestants and the game the star,” Richards told EW. “There’ll be a wide range of, I think, big names that you’ll go, ‘Oh yeah, of course,’ and then my hope is that there’s a couple of. ‘Oh, I hadn’t thought of that person, and I’d like to see what that looks like hosting ‘Jeopardy.’”
