Becoming one of the new hosts of “Jeopardy!” marks a career milestone for Mike Richards. It was recently announced that he would host the syndicated daily episodes of the popular quiz show.

“The Big Bang Theory” actress Mayim Bialik will serve as the host for the primetime “Jeopardy!” specials. These will include special tournaments. Together, Richards and Bialik will attempt to fill the void in the show left by the passing of Alex Trebek from cancer during November 2020.

Both Richards and Bialik served as guest hosts for “Jeopardy!” since the passing of Trebek. As fans of the show are aware, Richards has also worked as the quiz show’s executive producer. According to Insider, Richards joined the show as its executive producer during 2020. He came on while the world was facing the global coronavirus pandemic.

Richards came to “Jeopardy!” with a lot of television experience with him. He also served as an executive producer for such shows as “Wheel of Fortune” and “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” In the decade before he joined the famous quiz show, Richards also worked as an executive producer on “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price Is Right.”

Interestingly, Richards got his start in television by working as an intern. He landed that position and had the opportunity to work on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” This turned out to be an important career experience for the future “Jeopardy!” host.

“I was an intern at ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ right out of college,” Richards recently told Parade. “That turned into a production assistant job on the show. It was such a great first experience.”
