On Sunday night, former Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings hilariously called out Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote for his amusing invention.
As sure as the sun will rise, Jennings was back joking around and making witty observations on Twitter today. The greatest contestant in Jeopardy!‘s history has a 74-game win streak that still stands as a record on the game show. He often talks about his time on Jeopardy! or his other game show gig as a Chaser on The Chase. But tonight, he was taking it easy and watching some classic television: Looney Tunes.
While watching an episode of the old cartoon program, he came across one of the show’s most famous foes. Fans of the cartoon will know the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote’s contentious relationship well. Every episode is the same old story. The coyote forever chases the roadrunner to no avail. Even with his various tricks and contraptions, he never captures his prey.
Jennings zeroed in on one particular invention that the coyote created to finally get his target. Jennings took a screenshot of Wile E. Coyote’s “Do-It-Yourself Explosive Camera Kit.” On the surface, it seems like a solid idea even though we all know it didn’t work out for him. But the Jeopardy! champ questioned the blueprints for his contraption for an entirely different reason.
In the fine print of the plans, it states “(Fool Your Friends) – Be Popular!” Considering you’d be shooting your “friends” with a hidden gun in the camera, Jennings has a solid point when questioning “how on earth would this make you popular?”
‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Screenshots Hilarious Text Exchange With His Teenaged Kids
On Saturday night, Ken Jennings shared a hilarious screenshot of his text conversation with his teenaged children. He’s shown off amusing exchanges between his younger family members before in jest. But this time around he revealed their loving text about wanting him to buy stuff for them.
His most recent update is one that any parent can relate to as their children grow older. He has two kids with his wife Mindy: a son named Dylan and daughter named Caitlin. One of them wanted to go to Uniqlo sometime soon, which is a popular Japanese-based clothing store.
“Very proud that my teen kids still love spending quality time with their dad,” Jennings captioned his post. However, there’s more to the story if you read the texts. Spending time with dad comes with a caveat.
During the text exchange, one of his kids asked their dad to go shopping at Uniqlo. Jennings knew their true intent but replied by texting, “You’re willing to hang out with me in hopes that I will buy you jeans and I am INTO that!”
It was smart on Jennings’ part to accept the truth and move forward with it. He’ll accept whatever quality time he can get with his teen children these days. Then his kid hysterically text back that they wanted more than just new jeans.
“And anime graphic tees!!” they added.
