It turns out even a couple of Jeopardy! legends have time to make it to the baseball diamond to enjoy one of America’s favorite pastimes.
That’s right, both James Holzhauer and Ken Jennings were spotted on Wednesday evening at the Seattle Mariners game against the Minnesota Twins. We had a pretty good idea that the two were good friends before, and seeing them hang out together at the Mariners game just confirms that notion.
The jumbotron caught a glimpse of both of the Jeopardy! legends sitting side-by-side with one another. On the screen, it reads, “Ken Jennings, Really Smart,” and “James Holzhauer, Also Really Smart.” Holzhauer hilariously announced on social media that his lifelong dream had come true.
“Finally achieved my lifelong goal to be second banana on the Jumbotron!” Holzhauer wrote alongside the jumbotron photo.
It’s only right that Jeopardy! fans took to the comments section of the photo to give the two stars a hard time. After all, both Holzhauer and Jennings are known to poke fun at each other and others from time to time on social media. Maybe that’s why they are such good friends?
One fan made a sly comment right away and did so by bringing another Jeopardy! icon into the mix — Brad Rutter.
“If Brad was there what would they say?” one fan wrote. Another quickly responded, “In the same elite tier, though beginning to show diminishing buzzer times.”
2017 Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions winner and guest host Buzzy Cohen even stopped by to leave a comment.
“Aww you guys are so cute!” he said.
Meanwhile, another Twitter user left a funny message saying, “Kiss Cam!”
‘Jeopardy!’ Legends Poke Fun at Each Other at Mariners Game
Did we say something earlier about James Holzhauer and Ken Jennings taking shots at one another on social media? The two were in their element on Wednesday night at the Mariners game doing exactly that. Before they were spotted on the jumbotron together, Holzhauer posted a funny selfie of the two.
“48,000 seats at T-mobile and I had to pick this one,” Holzhauer captioned the photo.
And, of course, it did not take long for Jennings to fire back with his own quip.
“You buy a ticket in the ‘Game Show Dad’ section, you take your chances,” he replied.
As most fans of the popular game show already know, James Holzhauer and Ken Jennings are two of the show’s very best. Holzhauer went on a 32-game streak back in 2019. As for Jennings, he won an incredible 74 consecutive episodes back in 2004. He also served as one of the first Jeopardy! guest hosts in the wake of Alex Trebek’s tragic passing. The two also appeared together in Jeopardy!’s Greatest of All Time Tournament and on ABC’s The Chase.
