The city of Medina, Ohio is celebrating their native-born son, Jeopardy! champion Matt Amodio with a Hall of Fame induction.

Over on Twitter, Amodio shared a thank you from a local. Medina City Schools put the former Battling Bee into their Hall of Fame. After winning 38 straight games of Jeopardy! it is no wonder why. A quick look at the notable alumni from Medina High School shows that Amodio is among some great company.

Other noted alumni from the school include a former Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives as well as a pro soccer player, two NFL players, a pro basketball player, and a former Indy 500 open-wheel champion. Honestly, it is hard to say which is more impressive among the list of accomplishments. Amodio is arguably the second-best ever in his game, so who is to say?

Check out his tweet below. The Jeopardy! champ is “buzzing” with excitement it seems.

Throughout the replies, there were so many congratulations and other well wishes. Amodio has amassed quite a fanbase. Now that he is an official Hall of Famer, could Amodio be on to bigger and better things? Right now, the only way to build on his Jeopardy! legend is to win the Tournament of Champions. So, fans will wait and see what is next for their champ. There are so many great contestants from this year, the tournament should have a great field to choose from.

Although Amodio is usually posting jokes and sarcasm on Twitter, this sincere moment was great to see. Since he isn’t tweeting about the legend of Ken Jennings anymore, making him out to be a Chuck Norris type figure, he might have more time for fun things like this HoF induction.

‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Matt Amodio Jokes About Host Ken Jennings

During Ken Jennings’ turn as host, Amodio took to Twitter to post “facts” about his favorite Jeopardy! personality. Over the years Jennings has proven to be the ultimate champion. While folks like James Holzhauer and Amodio have made runs at the 74-game win streak, the closest anyone has come is 38 games.

Really, that is wild to think about. Amodio was on TV for what seemed like an entire year. During that time he was unable to even make it to 40 games. Although he had won 38 he still had almost twice that many to go until he passed his idol. So, Amodio knows what it would have taken to beat Jennings, and is now permanently in awe of the GOAT.

During the Jennings hosting stretch last week, Amodio kept those fingers flying on social media. He came up with a new joke every day. However, the Jeopardy! champ has stopped for now. If Jennings comes back to host any more, you can be sure that these types of jokes will continue.
