“Jeopardy!” may have had it right when they called this season of the game show the time of “super champions.”

First, we had Matt Amodio’s historic 38-day win streak, where he won more games than any other contestant except the iconic Ken Jennings. Then 11-day champion Jonathan Fisher unseated him. Fisher and Amodio made further history by becoming back-to-back double-digits champions. Winning so many “Jeopardy!” games in a row is ridiculously hard, but these two managed to pull it off.

And now, we have our next long-term champion in the running. New York healthcare data specialist Tyler Rhode beat Nancy Donehower earlier this week, who had defeated Fisher on Tuesday. Donehower’s win streak lasted for one game until Rhode came along and knocked her out of the running.

“Jeopardy!” celebrated Rhode’s three-day win streak yesterday with a shoutout Instagram post. “That smile says it all! Tyler Rhode is a 3-day champ!” the caption for the post reads. The brief video also shows Rhode’s three-day winnings so far, which totals $58,301.

Getting to Know the New ‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Tyler Rhode

Although “Jeopardy!” hasn’t interviewed Tyler Rhode yet about his success, they have dropped little tidbits about him over the last week. We know he works as a healthcare data specialist in New York City. But apparently, he also won a cash prize for his college senior thesis.

“Your college senior thesis was on something very interesting. Not ghosts, but…” host Mayim Bialik teased in a clip posted earlier this week.

“I wrote my thesis on Roman love elegy,” Rhode explained. “I won a cash prize for it, and I get an email update every month telling me no one has yet read my thesis except for the prize committee that awarded me the cash.”

“That is spookier than ghosts,” Bialik replied as the audience went, “awwwww.”

Poor Rhode. “Jeopardy!” must’ve felt bad for him too, because they posted his thesis from Columbia University along with the clip. “Let’s change that for Tyler! Take a look at his thesis here.”

We also learned that Rhode cares deeply about his cat. “Jeopardy!” posted a one-minute clip of several contestants talking about their cats for National Cat Day yesterday.

“We got a cartoon made of them, and then it was a coffee mug and then it was a paint by numbers,” Rhode explained. “And it now hangs on our wall in a golden frame. So, he’s slowly taking over all the art in our apartment.”

On his personal Twitter account, Rhode shared a picture of the masterpiece and his adorable feline.

Tune in to “Jeopardy!” this Monday to find out if Rhode extends his win streak!
