‘Jeopardy!’ Viewers Left Shocked After Contestants Can’t Identify Photo of Popular Comedian

“Jeopardy!” contestants are rarely stumped. However, an image on Wednesday (Jan. 27) night’s episode left them pondering who this well-known comedian is.

It was during the Double Jeopardy! Round when guest host Ken Jennings asked what many thought would be an easy clue for a $2,000 question, FOX News reports.

“This comedian displayed his drama chops in ‘A Star Is Born,’ playing Bradley Cooper’s longtime friend,” Jennings reads.

In addition to the clue Jennings read, the game show contestants were shown a picture of comedian Dave Chappelle. Chappelle has been in several movies and even has a series, “The Chappelle Show” on Comedy Central. However, no one seemed to know that answer. As a matter of fact, none of the three contestants even offered up a guess.

Jennings seemed surprised by the lack of response from the contestants. This perplexed at-home “Jeopardy!” viewers. Some of them took to Twitter to share their thoughts on how an “easy” question like this went unanswered.

This at-home viewer writes, “They just asked the contestants on Jeopardy who this is and no one knew. Wow!!! Dave Chappelle”

“No one knew @DaveChappelle? I hope they all lose. #jeopardy,” writes this frustrated fan.

“All that three adult humans had to do on Jeopardy was identify a picture of Dave Chappelle to get the question correct. None could do it. What?” writes another.

“No one knew who Dave Chappelle was on Jeopardy tonight; and they put a whole picture of him as the clue and everything. Nerds,” one person mocks the contestants.

Dave Chappelle hasn’t commented on the “Jeopardy!” contestants total miss of not being able to identify him. However, it’s possible that the comedian’s preoccupied at the moment. Just last week it was announced that Chappelle tested positive for COVID-19.

‘Jeopardy!’ Going Through First Round of Guest Hosts

The Emmy-award winning game show is still looking for its permanent host. However, in the meantime, it’s welcoming its first round of guest hosts.

Ken Jennings has been the first person to step in since the death of the one-and-only “Jeopardy!” host, Alex Trebek. Jennings is very familiar with the popular show. He is the winningest contestant in a regular-season on the game show. Before he stepped into the guest-hosting role, Jennings was serving as a consulting producer for “Jeopardy!”

Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers is also on the list to join the show. He’s not only talented on the field, but he also has some smarts. Rodgers is actually a “Celebrity Jeopardy!” champion.

Veteran journalist Katie Couric will be the first woman to host the show. And the second is going to be the “Big Bang Theory’s” Mayim Bialik. She says “it’s a dream come true.”

Rounding out the star-studded list is award-winning journalist Bill Whitaker. He has spent four decades covering news stories around the world for CBS News.
