NFL fans are especially upset with the Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones after the team’s quarterback suffered a serious leg injury.

Dak Prescott came into the offseason in the hope that he would secure a long-term contract with the Cowboys. The two sides were never able to reach an agreement.

The franchise signal-caller now faces an uncertain future after suffering a serious leg injury in Sunday’s game against the Giants. Prescott ended up signing a one-year franchise tag in June. However, there is growing criticism that Jones risked his quarterback’s long-term financial security.

Fans express their frustration with Jerry Jones

As Prescott was carted off the field in tears, NFL fans took to twitter to express their frustration with the Cowboys’ owner.

RJ Ochoa, manager and editor-in-chief of @BloggingTheBoys, tweeted “A lot of people have failed Dak Prescott this season,” mentioning Jones as one who failed him the most.

Similarly, former Cowboys’ star receiver Dez Bryant directed a tweet at Dallas’ top executives as well.

Other fans on Twitter didn’t hold back – many of them unquestionably upset with Jones.

“If Jones doesn’t take care of Dak Prescott after this season… I will no longer support the Dallas Cowboys as a fan. This man Dak is playing with no contract for 3 years now to ‘prove himself’ and now his future is in jeopardy.”

“Dak’s injury just made me hate Jerry Jones even more. F Jerry.”

“Jerry Jones gets to see what life without Dak Prescott (who he clearly doesn’t fully appreciate) is like. Then he will have to pay the man his money in the offseason.”

“Jerry Jones hugging everybody in the suite like he wasn’t stalling Dak’s payday.”

“Jones bout to find out just how valuable Dak is. Get well soon brother. #Cowboys”

“Watch Jerry Jones use this as an excuse not to pay #Dak.”

All things considered, Jones and the Cowboys released a statement hours after the injury.
