Jimmy Buffett Plays The Eagles Classic ‘Take It Easy’ with His Band in New Clip from JAS Aspen Snowmass Festival

by Jonathan Howard

Life for Jimmy Buffett really is one long cruise. While at the JAS Aspen Snowmass Festival, his band was seen jamming Take It Easy. Of course, the classic Eagles track is unmistakable. As a great song with great harmony, it lends itself to sitting around jamming with friends.

A catchy chorus that has stood the test of time, Take It Easy fits the laid-back Buffett. If there is anyone that knows how to take it easy, it is the Mayor of Margaritaville himself. Over the years he has made it clear what his plan in life is. Toes in the sand, beer in your hand. The video of him and his band jamming out with some Eagles makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

There are worse ways to spend a weekend than with Jimmy Buffett and others. We could all only be so lucky than to sit around and play some tunes with friends. The JAS Aspen Snowmass Festival is a cool event. Taking place over Labor Day Weekend in Snowmass, Colorado, there has been all kinds of great performances. The first night, Friday, featured Kings of Leon and Gary Clark Jr. It only got better.

On the second night, Eric Church and Sheryl Crow rocked the main stage. Larkin Poe was also featured on that second night. Talk about a festival! Those headliners in back-to-back nights are phenomenal. There aren’t many other festivals that could boast those kinds of headliners. However, day three stepped it up even more.

Tonight is the final night and Jimmy Buffett is headlining with some great acts just under. Maren Morris will play as well. Yola was scheduled to play but will not after testing positive for COVID just a couple of days ago. That’s quite the three-day stretch.

Jimmy Buffett Enjoying the Mountains

There is no doubt that Jimmy Buffett is the king of the beach. He has countless songs and jams about enjoying time on the water, getting sand in between your toes. While out in Colorado for the JAS Festival, he has taken in a bit of different scenery. The mountains and the trees are just as fitting for Buffett as the beach and water.

While his songs do focus on tropical settings, the message at the heart of them is that this world is a beautiful place. Get out and enjoy it. Whether you are in the saltwater of the Gulf or in the mountains of Colorado. He took the time to caption his post with lyrics from John Denver’s Rocky Mountain High. Along with his dog by his side, the scene looks tranquil and peaceful.

Seeing Jimmy Buffett playing shows for all the Parrotheads is great. When he is out playing live music, we can all agree the world is a better place. Aspen needs a little Margaritaville.
