John Fogerty Announces New Single Coming Next Week: ‘Stay Tuned’

Music legend John Fogerty, who was the lead singer for Creedence Clearwater Revival, says he is planning to release a new single next week.

Fogerty made the brief announcement on Twitter, dropping no other hints than a brief announcement.

Fogerty has been spending a lot of time recording with his children during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, he released the album “Fogerty’s Factory” back in November.

The album features all of Fogerty’s most iconic songs but rerecorded with his three youngest children. Shane, 29, Tyler, 28, and Kelsy, 19, accompany their father on his newest album.

“Here we are a family band, and it had really never occurred to me,” Fogerty said. “One day, we looked at each other and said, ‘We’re the Partridge Family!’ And we meant that in all the good ways that could be.”

Tyler and Shane are in a psych-rock band named Hearty Har and have toured alongside their father. Kelsy plays guitar and recently took up the drums during the quarantine.

“As a dad, I am so grateful that this little postcard from the pandemic is there,” John Fogerty said. “I will remember this for the rest of my life.

“It’s such a weird year, but to get to have this wonderful memento together is very joyful to me,” he said. “It’s very fulfilling to do it with your kids and watch them. I got to look at their faces, the way I sometimes watch the fans singing my songs. And of course, they’re singing and playing and recording along with me. It was just a wonderful time.”

John Fogerty Shares Spotlight With Country Artists

Despite his strong connections to rock music through classics like “Proud Mary,” John Fogerty has teamed up with country music artists, too.

Back in 2005, Fogerty joined Keith Urban in an episode of “CMT Crossroads.” They got together on stage and sang songs from Fogerty’s and Urban’s songbook.

“Bad Moon Rising” from Fogerty’s CCR days, along with Urban’s “Days Go By” and “You’ll Think Of Me,” were performed at the concert.

A couple of days before the two singer-songwriters performed together, they practiced the songs they would play for the “Crossroads” show. However, Keith Urban wasn’t worrying too much about his knowledge of Fogerty’s songs.

“I’m fortunate that I know these songs so well. It wasn’t that I had to sit down and really sort of study all the parts,” says Urban, adding, “It’s a lot of fun playing with him.”
