Kanye West, rapper and independent presidential candidate, is speaking out against the notion that his White House campaign is a secret attempt to help President Donald Trump’s reelection.
West was a recent guest on Nick Cannon’s YouTube podcast. During the interview at West’s Cody, WY ranch, the billionaire addressed the recent accusations. He denies working with the Republican Party to damage Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s chances in the November election.
“People keep on saying, ‘I think that y’all — you and Republicans — are in cahoots,” said West.
Cannon replied that, “They’re saying that they are paying you to do what you’re doing, to be a distraction.”
“Bro, can’t nobody pay me. I’ve got more money than Trump,” the rapper/producer responded.
Kanye West Meets With Jared Kushner

West has previously come under fire for taking meetings with Trump, and supporting his presidency. He’s also been known to wear the red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat as a sign of his support. Additionally, West was scrutinized over a private meeting in August between himself and Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner.
During the first weekend of August, Kushner and wife Ivanka Trump were traveling in Telluride, CO. West was also in Colorado visiting with his famous wife Kim Kardashian West and their four children. The artist flew out to Telluride to meet Kushner, but his wife and kids didn’t tag along.
West took to Twitter, his favorite platform to communicate with the public, to share his thoughts on the controversy.
“I’m willing to do a live interview with the New York Times about my meeting with Jared,” he posted on Twitter, adding that they discussed “PowerNomics,” a book about black empowerment by Dr. Claude Anderson.
Kushner also denied any involvement with West’s presidential efforts in a Fox News interview, saying “Unlike others, I’m able to keep friendships across the aisle. We didn’t discuss his campaign and what he’s up to. I read things in the press, but I have not discussed that directly with him.”
