Following the wrap of his upcoming film John Wick: Chapter 4, Keanu Reeves revealed he actually had to hone in on his equestrian skills during the movie’s production.
During his recent interview with Esquire, Keanu Reeves explained in the opening sequence of John Wick: Chapter 4, his titled character is back in the desert a horse. “I’m going to hopefully be able to fast-gallop and run.”
When asked if he actually knew how to even do that, Keanu Reeves declared, “Ish. That’s why I’m going to training.”
Keanu Reeves has played the title character of all John Wick films. The fourth installment’s title may have been revealed earlier this month when One Take News shared on Twitter that the production’s wrap gifts had the John Wick logo with “Hagakure” in writing underneath. The film’s plot has yet to be revealed. It is slated to hit theaters in the U.S. on May 27, 2022.
The John Wick franchise’s fifth movie is now in pre-production. The fifth installment’s release date is currently to be determined.
Keanu Reeves Takes a Look Back At His Acting Career Through the Years
While continuing his chat with Esquire, Keanu Reeves spoke about his highly successful acting career. When asked which three movies he’d tell someone who has never seen his acting, he stated, Oh my gosh. Three films. Okay, let’s just start with The Matrix. When I say The Matrix, let’s do the trilogy.”
Keanu Reeves then shared the second and third films that he believes would be good for “first time” viewers of his work. “Then let’s do The Devil’s Advocate. And then let’s do… We need something action-y in there. So let’s do Point Break.”
When chatting about the John Wick franchise, Keanu Reeves revealed that he went to the movie theater to see John Wick 3 in the summer of 2019. “I didn’t know if I was going to get the chance to do another one. And I just wanted to see if people liked it,” he explained. “It was cool when people started laughing during the knife fight in the opening.”
Keanu Reeves goes on to say he went with a friend to the theater to watch the movie. “I was like, ‘Let’s go see John Wick 3 before it goes.’ I love the John Wick movies! They’re fun!”
The actor then stated he wanted to be with an audience because he didn’t know if would get to see it again or if another film would happen. “I wanted to soak it in. To see it on the big screen. These movies are made for the big screen. We got popcorn. Some Peanut M&M’s.”
