Kelly Clarkson Admits She Got ‘So High’ at Dentist She Couldn’t Recognize Her Songs

For most people, a trip to the dentist is usually a mundane, ordinary event. However, this wasn’t the case for American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.

During an interview with Kaley Cuoco on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer revealed she was left unable to remember an entire night’s events after a trip to her dentist back in 2017. For most people, this happens when they have too many glasses of wine. However, this wasn’t the reason for Clarkson’s brief stint with amnesia.

During the interview, she gave the backstory behind the strange sequence of events.

“I was at CVS filling some prescription because I’d had dental work done the day before,” The Voice coach began. “And I look in my bag and I have all these jewelry boxes and I’m like, ‘What the hell?’ Like I have literally five to six big boxes of jewelry in my bag. And I’m like, ‘Did I like rob someone’s house?’”

“High” Kelly Clarkson Cracks Up Her Band Members

Clarkson said she called her assistant, who told her that the two had gone shopping together and had dinner after Clarkson’s rehearsal with the band.

“I had a full night completely with eyes open walking around that I don’t remember,” Clarkson told the former Big Bang star.

Clarkson’s story continued to get better when she added that her bandmates informed her that she sat at the rehearsal wearing sunglasses, saying into the microphone, “That ain’t my song,” when they began to play.

“I was so high from the dentist,” the American Idol winner added. Cuoco quickly quipped back, asking, “What did the dentist give you?” Then hilariously adding “Where can I get it?”

Fans can look forward to more moments like this since NBC recently renewed The Kelly Clarkson Show last week for two more seasons. “One ray of sunshine in this wildly unpredictable year is that we get to continue to deliver to stations and fans, a show that brings people together,” NBCUniversal Syndication Studios Executive Vice President, Tracie Wilson, said in a statement at the time.

“This wouldn’t be possible without the heart and humor of the talented and dedicated Kelly Clarkson and our production team, led by the incomparable Alex Duda, both of whom are masters of storytelling. It’s easy to see why Emmy voters, critics and viewers have become such loyal fans of the show.”
