Kelly Clarkson is in the mood to celebrate. Her talk show will go on for at least another two years.

The star announced the renewal of her show on Twitter. She wrote: “Two more years, y’all. Can’t wait to continue The #KellyClarksonShow all the way until 2023!”

One NBC Exec Called Kelly Clarkson a “Ray of Sunshine”

NBCUniversal executives were happy to give the show another two years. In a statement to the media, Tracie Wilson, vice president of NBCUniversal’s syndication studio said:

“One ray of sunshine in this wildly unpredictable year is that we get to continue to deliver to stations and fans a show that brings people together. This wouldn’t be possible without the heart and humor of the talented and dedicated Kelly Clarkson and our production team, led by the incomparable (showrunner) Alex Duda, both of whom are masters of storytelling.

“It’s easy to see why Emmy voters, critics and viewers have become such loyal fans of the show.”

Clarkson and her show won three Daytime Emmys this year. Clarkson received the trophy for best entertainment talk show host.

The show won three Daytime Emmys in 2020, including one for Clarkson as best entertainment talk show host. Although Clarkson was named best host, Ellen DeGeneres’ program won the Emmy for top entertainment talk show.

Clarkson’s show, which is syndicated throughout the country, premiered in 2019. It proved to be the most popular new talk show for the past seven years.

Viewers love Clarkson’s charm, her voice and her authenticity. Earlier this week, she invited Garth Brooks and devoted the entire show to him. The two chatted like two old friends. In one segment, they discussed whether each has a “thumb” face and how to conceal double chins. Appearance-conscious Hollywood doesn’t really have these kinds of conversations.

Valari Staab, who is president of NBCUniversal owned TV stations, called Clarkson’s show “one of the most optimistic success stories (in the country) in first-run syndication. ”

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Clarkson filmed her show remotely in the spring and summer. But she’s now back in the studio.

The show is averaging 1.3 million viewers per day. Those numbers place it among the top five most-watched among talk shows.

Clarkson also is a mentor on “The Voice,” along with Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and John Legend. The show also is on NBC. Carter Rubin, who was on Stefani’s team, won this season.
