Kelly Clarkson is releasing another studio album—finally! And she announced today, that one of the included titles is a holiday single.
Kelly Clarkson fans haven’t gotten a new album since 2017. The Catch My Breath singer has had a pretty busy schedule with The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Voice, and a very public divorce. So, we understand why she took a break from the recording studio. But we’re still thrilled that she’s writing songs again. And we’re even more thrilled that she’s including a Christmas-themed title because we love the holidays. And apparently, so does she.
The songstress announced the single in an Instagram post.
“Y’all know I’m obsessed with Christmas!!!” she wrote. “That’s why I’m so excited to announce my new single Christmas Isn’t Canceled (Just You) is coming out September 23rd!! Pre-save it now!! You’re gonna love it.” And we don’t doubt that we will.
In an interview with Willie Geist, Clarkson admitted that this album will be her “most personal” yet. And we have to admit, the title of the holiday single had us wondering. Clarkson’s recent break from Brandon Blackstock inspired each song.
“This next record, this will probably be the most personal one I’ve ever released,” Clarkson said. “The whole record is basically every emotion you experience from the beginning of a relationship to the end of what it is now or where it is now. It’s been very therapeutic for me. It’s very honest.”
Kelly Clarkson Reveals How She Reacts When She Hears Her Songs In Public
Kelly Clarkson has three Grammy Awards, three VMA awards, and three number one hits. So, it’s safe to say that she gets a lot of radio air time. But that doesn’t mean the singer doesn’t still geek out every time she hears her voice play on the radio.
In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Clarkson admitted that she loves hearing her songs play in public. While chatting with the talk show host, she said that she often doesn’t notice when her songs play. But when she does, she’s a “total tool.”
“What do you do when you’re in the grocery store, and you come on [the radio]?” Fallon asked. “Well, sing along and dance,” Clarkson answered.
Then she told Fallon about a recent shopping trip with her friend. She felt the need to start dancing right in the aisle.
“I was just having a good day,” she said. ” And I feel like you should really lean into that right now. Ya know, at this point in life, if you’re having a good day. So I leaned in, and I just started dancing and embarrassing my friend.”
