Kelly Osbourne is having a rough time. The TV personality broke her social media hiatus to share some devastating news with fans. She lost her beloved pet, Polly. Osbourne’s dog passed away after more than six years with her.

Previously, Osbourne said she was taking a break from social media. But she wanted to reach out to her followers and used Instagram as a way to express her grief. Osbourne shared an adorable picture of the dog, staring at the camera with her head tilted. It makes the heartbreaking news even more devastating.

She wrote: “I promised myself that I would take a break from social media for the summer… however I thought I should let you all know that this week I lost my Polly to pulmonary heart defect! She has been by my side for 6 years. I do not know how to go on without her.”

Osbourne also said she would be taking a break from social media again. She said she needs further time to grief and to process the death. She forewarned even her closest friends that she might need some time to herself for now.

To say I’m devastated is an understatement. I have never felt pain like this, I have lost my shadow. I don’t think I will ever get over this. My heart is broken. I am broken!!! I am not in a place to even talk about it. To all my close friends… if I don’t respond please understand that I just need time

Kelly Osbourne On Her Addiction

Hopefully, Kelly Osbourne won’t allow her grief to push her to too dark of a place. Previously, the reality start got candid about her addiction and past substance abuse. Earlier this year, Osbourne admitted she broke almost four years of sobriety.

“I was alone, sitting by a pool and waiting for somebody to come have a meeting with me. And I saw this woman and her husband had a glass of champagne. It looked really nice, and I was like, ‘I can do that, too,’” she said on the show. “And the next day, I had two glasses. And the day after that, it was bottles.”

Osbourne’s battle with addiction occurred at just the age of 13. She had her tonsils taken out and got a highly addictive painkiller from the doctor. As a result of the surgery and painkillers, Osbourne became addicted and soon moved onto other substances.

“That was all I needed,” she said. She struggled with her addiction ever since, saying that the drugs helped give her comfort over insecurities. Osbourne has battled against her addiction, going to three different rehab clinics during her life.
