Today marks the 66th birthday for the legendary actor Kevin Costner. He took to social media earlier to thank his fans for all of the good wishes.

Costner has been a part of numerous memorable movies such as The Bodyguard, to Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, For the Love of the Game, and more recently The Highway Men. He also played the general manager of the Cleveland Browns in Draft Day.

However, perhaps our most favorite Kevin Costner role is that of him playing the patriarch John Dutton in the Paramount series, Yellowstone.

The 66-year-old plays Dutton and is the head of a family that’s lived on a massive Montana ranch for six generations and counting. John works to try and keep the ranch thriving and in the family, but it’s not always easy. He’s faced with adversity. However, this adversity isn’t always from his foes, but sometimes from his children.

The Yellowstone Instagram account was one of the first to pay tribute to Costner on his birthday. They posted a photo of the legendary actor in a cowboy hat. It’s a very dark and moody photo of the actor. He’s leaning on a wooden fence and also wearing one of his signature vests.

“Happy birthday to the one and only Kevin Costner! @kevincostnermodernwest#YellowstoneTV,” the caption reads.

Meanwhile, Costner received love from just about every corner of the world on Monday. He posted a thank you on Twitter to everyone for the birthday wishes. In his post, he includes a black and white photo of him leaning back playing the guitar.

“Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Incredibly grateful for another trip around the sun,” Costner wrote on Twitter.

Will Kevin Costner Remain An Actor As He Gets Older?

There’s no question that Kevin Costner still has plenty of time left as a great actor. But he’ll be choosier about which roles he takes on. He likes to talk about “architecture.”

“I’m going to play the second half of my career out directing, but it could very well be in television,” Costner told Indie Wire. “But it won’t be making it up as you go. The architecture has to be there. I’m more about that. Listen, a lot of my movies are long. I like the subplots. I like it when it all comes together — [but not when] it’s made up on the fly. I don’t trust that.”

We certainly hope there’s a lot more to come from Costner in the future. Happy 66th birthday to a legend.
