Happy Birthday to music industry icon Kid Rock as he celebrates 50 years of life on earth today (Sunday).
The rock star was born Robert James Ritchie on January 17, 1971, and hails from Romeo, Michigan. Kid Rock has certainly made a name for himself in the music industry with his “in your face” style of rock and silky smooth voice.
His story of fame is an unlikely one as the singer-songwriter is a self-taught musician. He is able to play several instruments with great proficiency and his voice easily shifts from heavy metal to country to hip hop genres — sometime within the same song.
He took to social media on Sunday to share his 50th birthday plans with his fans and followers. Kid Rock has a massive fanbase with over 693,000 followers on Instagram. Along with a message for his fans and social media followers, Kid Rock also shared some of his favorite photos.
“F****n’ 50!!…I made it!” he proclaims in the Instagram post. “Happy Birthday to me! Wanted to share one of my favorite personal pics with y’all on my special day. Looking forward to hanging with everyone tonight who is signed up at Kidrock.com. There could be no better gift than raising money with my fans and friends to help small businesses out in this country I love more than life itself! One Love – Kid Rock. PS – this is my definition of ROCKIN’ these days!!”
The Instagram photo shows a barefoot Kid Rock in a rocking chair holding a toddler. The social media post drew more than 46,000 likes only a few hours after its posting.
Kid Rock Celebrating a Half Century Birthday

Kid had his “break through” record in 1998 with “Devil Without a Cause.” The album sold 14 million copies as the artist began his climb up the music industry ranks.
