One of the child actors who performed in the 1960s sitcom, “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies” passed away in February 2020. That actor was Kim Tyler.

According to Deadline.com, Tyler played the oldest of the children on the show. “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies” aired on NBC from 1965 until 1967. His family reportedly broke the news about his death.

Kim Tyler was 66 years old at the time of his death, which occurred on Feb. 10, 2021. His reported cause of death was cancer. The child star passed away at his residence in Hollywood Heights, according to Deadline.com. Tyler is reportedly survived by his wife, Michelle. The couple had been married for 42 years.

The article also reported that Kim Tyler’s first job on television took place in 1956. That year he acted on “The 20th Century Fox Hour.”

The following decade would see him appear on several popular television shows in guest roles. According to the article, the shows included “The Andy Griffith Show.” In that popular show, he played a friend of Sheriff Andy Taylor’s son, Opie.

Kim Tyler also reportedly appeared on “The Addams Family,” “My Three Sons,” “My Favorite Martian,” and “Hazel.” The young actor also appeared on multiple episodes of “The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet” in the same role.

It was in 1965 that Kim Tyler was cast in the show “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies”. The show had its origins in the 1957 novel by Jean Kerr of the same name. Also, according to Deadline.com, the story became a movie in 1960. Doris Day and David Niven starred as the parents of the family in the film.

On television, Mark Miller and Patricia Crowley played the roles of the parents. Kim Tyler played Kyle Nash. Kyle was the oldest of the four children in the Nash family. There was also son Joel, who was played by Brian Nash, and twins Tracey and Trevor. Brothers Joe Fithian and Jeff Fithian played the twins, according to Deadline.com.

Based on the synopsis posted on IMDb.com, the plot of “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies” was: “… Set in Ridgemont, New York, the Nashes are an unusual suburban family. Jim Nash, a college English professor, and his lazy wife Joan, a newspaper columnist, live with their four rambunctious sons, a tolerant family maid, and a huge sheepdog.”

Interestingly, according to IMDb.com, “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies” had been “the earliest television series of which the entire main cast is still alive.” That status changed after Kim Tyler died on Feb. 10, 2021.

Tyler was born on April 17, 1954, in Hollywood, California. He married his wife, Michelle, during 1979.
