Duck Dynasty’s Korie Robertson is opening up about parenting in a new Instagram post.
The former A&E reality show star shared an anecdote about her parenting travails on Instagram. She posted the story along with a throwback photo of her family. Most notably, her husband, Willie Robertson, is not sporting a long beard as he did in the family’s TV show.
Korie Robertson Talks About the ‘Forbidden’ Words in Her Family
“I was talking to our adult kids last night about parenting and laughing so hard about the phrases that they said were curse words growing up,” she recounted. “Besides the forbidden ‘s’ words ‘shut up’ and ‘stupid, these were the phrases that were immediately regretted in our house as soon as they came out of their mouths:
“‘You/he/she made me.’ This would be most definitely get you a speech about how unless someone is holding a gun to your head nobody can ‘make’ you do anything, you are responsible for your own actions and reactions.
“‘I hate him/her’ *starts quoting scriptures about ‘if you can’t love your brother who you have seen, how can you love God who you can’t see’ ‘love your enemy…’
“‘I never’ ‘You never’ as in ‘I never get to buy anything’ ‘You never let me play video games’ Really never? Do you want to know what it’s like to never…
“And the worst curse word of them all ‘bored’ as in ‘I’m bored’ said by the child that has a room full of toys and books and a big backyard ‘Oh really, I’ll be happy to find something for you to do’ *Child immediately decides he does have something to do after all, runs outside and isn’t seen again ‘til dark,” she concluded.
Korie Robertson has six children – John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella, Rowdy, and Rebecca. While the family no longer films Duck Dynasty, Korie has continued building a fanbase on Instagram. She has racked up 1.9 million followers and 2,944 posts.
