Sons of Anarchy actress Kristen Renton took to social media on Thursday afternoon to post a heartfelt tribute to fellow co-star William Lucking.
Kristen Renton has been following her dream of becoming an actress ever since she was just 17 years old. Most recently, however, fans know her from her role as “Ima” on the critically acclaimed FX series Sons of Anarchy. We know that a lot of you Outsiders follow the show religiously. But for those who don’t, the show follows the lives of the motorcycle gang SAMCRO. Renton’s character Ima is a no-nonsense sex worker who always seems to have chaos follow her wherever she goes.
Meanwhile, William Lucking played the rugged character of Piney Winston on Sons of Anarchy. Piney was an old-school biker and without a doubt one of the fan-favorite characters on the entire show. Unfortunately, news broke on Thursday confirming that Lucking has passed away at the age of 80. As a result, Renton took to her official Twitter page to post a touching message to her late co-star.
“RIP sir….. it was such an honor to work with you on @SonsofAnarchy. You had a presence unlike any other. You will truly be missed.”
“I’m so sorry,” one fan commented. “Just another great artist that went too soon. So sad. Life is hard. Nothing but love.”
Another fan pointed out how much they loved Lucking’s work in The A-Team. He played Army Col. Lynch on the NBC show from 1983-84. He also played the Bajoran Furel in three episodes of the syndicated Star Trek: Deep Space Nine from 1995-97.
“You were a great man. Loved your work from the days of The A-Team.”
“Piney! The actual heart and soul of the club,” another person replied.
Kristen Renton, Other ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Stars Post Tributes to William Lucking
Kristen Renton wasn’t the only Sons of Anarchy star to post a message in honor of William Lucking on Thursday. As a matter of fact, several other actors posted their own tributes. One of them was Kim Coates, the actor who played Alexander “Tig” Trager in the show.
“Never ever gonna forget this guy,” Coates wrote. “Billy broke the mold of pretty much everything he did and accomplished. The times we all had on set are legendary… just like Piney… Miss you brother. RIP. Tig x.”
Theo Rossi also posted a touching message to Lucking. He played Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz in the show.
“WE were all on a boat. It was in the AM and it was chaos,” Rossi said. “BUT it didn’t matter, because like many times before, I was fortunate to listen and learn from this knowledgable steadfast oak of a Human. One of one, none before and none to come. Give ’em hell BILL!”
