Tim Allen’s hit show Last Man Standing has scored a 2021 Emmy Nomination. The series came to an end in May after running for a total of nine seasons.

20th Television took to Twitter to announce the exciting news by tweeting, “Thank you @televisionacad for recognizing @LastManStanding with an Emmy Nomination! #Emmys2021 #20thTV #LastManStanding.”

One of Last Man Standing’s fans also wrote, “It’s about time!! This was truly the best Family TV Series! Really going to miss this amazing cast & crew so much! Hope @LastManStanding wins!”

‘Last Man Standing’ Made Its TV Debut in 2011

Last Man Standing made its television debut in October of 2011. The show follows Mike Baxter (Tim Allen) and his family. Baxter is the director of marketing for sporting goods store Outdoor Man and he is a huge supporter of conservative values. Baxter is married to Vanessa (Nancy Travis) and has three daughters Kristin (Alexandra Krosney and Amanda Fuller), Mandy (Molly Ephraim and Molly McCook), and Eve (Kaitlyn Dever).

Other main cast members of Last Man Standing include Christoph Sanders, Hector Elizondo, Jason Masterson, Jonathan Adams, and Krista Marie Yu. The show originally ran from 2011 to 2017 on ABC and then returned for its seventh through the ninth season on Fox. This was after fans rallied for the show and signed petitions to revive the series.

According to USA Today, after Fox revived Last Man Standing for its seventh season, Tim Allen issued a statement, “Team LMS was in the sixth inning, ahead by four runs, stands were packed and then for no reason, they called off the game. Now we get the news from Fox that it time to get back out on that diamond – hell yes, I’m excited!”

Allen also shares in the statement that when he heard the offer from Fox to create more episodes of Last Man Standing, he did a fist pump so hard, he actually threw his back out. “I could not be more grateful for the fans who wrote petitions and kept the passion and incredible support for the show.”

Tim Allen Calls End of ‘Last Man Standing’ Very Difficult on Him

In a recent interview with Deadline, Last Man Standing lead Tim Allen describes the show ending as “very difficult” on him. “For whatever reason, this was the end of the nine-year stretch on [the show],” Allen states.

Allen also recalls saying goodbye to the Last Man Standing set on last time. “This set, I looked at every set piece. I walked through every hallway over and over again, always looking around. It didn’t help. Having this pulled from us several times like that, you get used to sudden death and for some reason, I prefer that.”

Allen adds that he took a miniature display of Outdoor Man from the set. He also has a “crap load of stuff” from the show in his warehouse.
