Tragedy struck the set of Rust last week. An accident involving a prop gun injured one and killed another. Joel Souza, the film’s director, went to the hospital with minor injuries. However, Halyna Hutchins, the film’s director of photography, lost her life. Many news outlets as well as meme-loving denizens of the internet have placed the blame for the accident on Alec Baldwin’s shoulders. In reality, the film’s assistant director told him the gun was “cold” before handing it over. Baldwin had no idea he was holding a loaded gun. He took the word of the AD and tragedy struck.

One person who doesn’t blame Alec Baldwin for Hutchins’ death is her father, Anatoly Androsovych, according to LadBible. He and Halyna’s mother are in Ukraine, grieving from half a world away. However, they’re not looking at Baldwin to make things right. Instead, Hutchins’ parents blame the movie’s props department.

About this, Androsovych said, “We still can’t believe Halyna is dead and her mother is going out of her mind with grief. But, I don’t hold Alec Baldwin responsible – it is the responsibility of the props people who handle the guns.”

At the end of the day, Androsovych has better things to do than point fingers at Alec Baldwin. Right now, he is trying to find a way to get himself, his wife Olga, and their daughter Svetlana to America. They want to be there for Halyna’s husband and child during their time of grief. Furthermore, the grieving father doesn’t see that it’s his job to place blame. Instead, he’ll leave that decision up to Halyna’s widower. “Matt will decide if legal action is going to be taken,” he said.

Talking about his nine-year-old grandson Andros, Androsovych said, “The little boy had been very badly affected. He is lost without his mother.”

More About the Tragic Event on Alec Baldwin’s Western

It is true that Alec Baldwin fired the prop gun that killed Halyna Hutchins. However, all reports point to it being a tragic accident. He was unaware that the gun was loaded. Furthermore, he had no reason to believe the gun was “hot”.

Investigators from the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department questioned Alec Baldwin and others about the shooting. In the end, they released him without filing charges. They made no arrests on the Rust set in connection with the incident. Furthermore, reports say that Baldwin has cooperated with investigators every step of the way.

Baldwin spoke out about the incident on social media. “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother, and deeply admired colleague of ours,” he wrote. He went on to say that he has been in touch with Halyna’s husband and has offered his support to him and his family. “My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”
