And so the back and forth continues between Law & Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni and his former co-star on Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay.
Despite being on different shows nowadays, it appears as if Meloni and Hargitay have a tighter friendship than perhaps ever before. The two starred on Law & Order: SVU as Detectives Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson, respectively, for the show’s first 12 seasons. Hargitay, of course, still stars on the show. Meanwhile, Meloni has moved on and is now with Law & Order: Organized Crime which is set to premiere its second season next month.
Off the air, however, the two former co-stars are still very close friends. They have made a habit as of late of posting some of their hilarious interactions online for their fans to see. The latest of those has been a series of videos in which Meloni and Hargitay whisper into the camera and act like they are having private conversations.
But this time, the Law & Order: Organized Crime star had a special guest with him — Ellen Burstyn. For those who don’t recognize the name, Burstyn is the actress who played the role of Bernadette Stabler. She is the widow of Joseph Stabler and Detective Elliot Stabler’s mom.
“Marsha, I got the crazy glue, thank you,” Meloni whispers into the camera. “But I found something, does it belong to you?”
“Hi, it’s me,” Bustyn chimes in.
“She says she knows you,” Meloni responds.
“Marsha, she says she knows you #mamaCametoplay” Meloni captioned his most recent post.
Ellen Burstyn is getting ready to guest star in the upcoming season of Law & Order: Organized Crime. She will, of course, reprise her role as Stabler’s mom.

There’s no doubt about it, Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay are two big goofballs on social media. But the Law and Order stars have a deep, and meaningful friendship that goes way back. We’re talking all the way back to the first time they met at the Law & Order: SVU screen test.
“[We both] walked into the screen test, me telling her a store, and we get up on stage in front of all the suits and we’re just so engaged,” Meloni told People Magazine in a previous interview.
Mariska Hargitay doubled down on that. The Olivia Benson actress said that she knew there was a special chemistry between the two when they first met.
“I won’t say that I fully understood it, but I knew that meeting him was important and life-changing.”
She was certainly right about that.
